FAUST

'Despicable, but ready to go and suffer! You are going, aren't you?'
'I am. Now. Yes, it was to avoid such disgrace that I wanted to drown myself, Dunya, but then, when I was already standing over the water, I thought: "If I've always considered myself strong, even disgrace should hold no fear for me now,"' he said, running ahead. 'Is that pride, Dunya?'

Call me Ishmael!!! Or you can call me Youn, or Faust, or any number of the names I've found (stolen) like a magpie and its found (stolen) trinkets. Did you know, the magpie's compulsive urge to steal has not been proven. This widely believed trait of the magpie seems to be a product of European folklore and not of anything backed by science. Living, breathing magpies have next to no attraction to bright, shiny things. In fact, there is the suggestion that they even fear or avoid novelty (it is disadvantageous in the context of survival) and we have wrongfully diagnosed an entire species with kleptomania.

About me: Classic literature is my favourite, and things that reference classic literature. My favourite book is Crime and Punishment. My doctor tells me I have an empathy problem, and I shouldn't go around thinking I'm the most intelligent being in the world, but I know more than a man with a degree. I love mochas, and I like to think, and think and think and think like there's an infinity inside my body. It isn't the truth. There is an end to me, I just can't find it. Won't find it. What does that say about my self-proclaimed, zero-evidence omniscience and genius? I don't care to find out.
